THE asking price of a Grade-II listed commerical property in Knutsford town centre has been cut by £125,000 in a bid to find a buyer.
Blacks Business Brokers is now marketing the freehold on 113 King Street, which previously traded as Knutsford Antiques Centre, with a guide price of £825,000.
The Georgian property was acquired in 1995 by David and Patricia McLeod who established their antiques business within the premises.
The couple, who have now retired, wish to sell the property which is located toward the upper end of the town's main shopping street.
Grace Court, a customer service facilitator at Blacks Business Brokers, described the property as a potential great opportunity for a new owner, given it's location among Knutsford's independent shops, boutiques and restaurants and its proximity to Tatton Park.
She added: “This price reduction reflects the fact we are now selling vacant premises, rather than a going concern.
“However, the fact it is being sold with vacant possession is potentially a great opportunity for a new owner.
"It is a fantastically-located historic property that would, subject to planning consent, lend itself to a wide range of retail or commercial uses.
“Neighbouring properties on King Street are home to a range of successful retail, hospitality and professional services businesses.
"This is a substantial building in the commercial heart of one of the North’s most desirable towns and I believe it would either make a great addition to the portfolio of an existing property investor or, equally, could provide the security of freehold ownership to an entrepreneur who wanted to establish their business there.”
The 2,600 sq ft double-fronted property is divided into 12 large rooms across three storeys.
When it was operating as an antiques centre the property generated rental income of £60,000 per year from letting rooms and cabinets to a number of independent antiques dealers.
