A WOMEN’S Institute group near Knutsford is celebrating its centenary year by bringing people together.

As part of the celebrations, Over Peover WI has introduced a ‘Meet and Eat’ event running throughout the year at various venues.

A spokesperson for the group said: “The event will alternate between a lunch and dinner so it gives everyone the chance to be involved.

“The first get-together was a lunch at the Alderley Edge Hotel and it attracted 17 members, so a great turnout.

“It was a perfect opportunity to mingle and chat in a relaxed way.

“The day was made more special as one member was celebrating her birthday having missed celebrating a ‘big’ one during the first lockdown.

“So, this was the big birthday plus two years.

“The food was delicious, and everyone agreed that it had been lovely event - they were really looking forward to the dinner in July.”
