Locals and visitors to Cheshire are being encouraged to get out and about on Wednesday, March 30 to celebrate Cheshire Day, with a whole range of activities to experience.

The special day – which marks when Edward I awarded Cheshire its very own charter of liberties, on March 30, 1300 – is a chance for everyone to champion the county.

Last year Cheshire Day was digital-only, but this year everyone is being encouraged to visit their favourite places in the county.

People are also being encouraged to share their experiences on social media using the hashtags #CheshireDay, #OurCheshireFamily, and Cheshire Day stickers on Instagram.

A number of deals and discounts are available on the day through Visit Cheshire which we have rounded up below.

Cheshire Day 2022 deals and discounts

One deal is being offered by Mottram Hall which is offering 20 per cent off the Traditional Afternoon Tea menu plus complimentary glass of bubbles to celebrate the day.

This will be available in the Champagne Bar from 12pm to 4pm on March 30, and you can book a table by emailing events@mottramhall.com or calling 01625 823 754.

If you wanted to do something a bit more active then Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre is offering 50 per cent off admission on Cheshire Day. All you need to do is use the code "cheshireday2022" on the website when booking a visit.

Another day out experience comes at the Lion Salt Works, which alongside 25 per cent off admission is offering visitors free entry to the new temporary photography exhibition by the Friends of Anderton and Marbury.

To appreciate the history of Chester on the day, a free walking tour of the city led by a Roman solider will take place at 3pm and start off at Sick to Death.

Another discount can come your way through Calico Campers which is offering 10 per cent off campervan hire bookings using the code CHESHIREDAY at checkout.

How to win a prize on Cheshire Day

There's a chance to win fantastic prizes as part of Cheshire Day including a two-night stay at The Hollies Forest Lodges and a family pass to Go Ape Delamere Forest.

These things can be won in the Cheshire Day Instagram Competition.
