A CARE home in Mobberley has been renamed by residents and team members in tribute to a Victorian author with a connection to the area.
Cranford Grange, on Hall Lane, formerly known as Sunrise of Mobberley, is now managed by Care UK, after the provider announced they would be taking over the management of seven Sunrise Senior Living UK and 19 Gracewell Healthcare’s homes in the UK.
To help inspire the home's new name, the general manager and team members, who will remain in place under Care UK, and residents at the home were invited to submit their suggestions based on Mobberley’s history, places and famous locals.
Lisa Burrows, home manager at Cranford Grange, said: “We’re thrilled to now be part of the Care UK family and with our new name, Cranford Grange.
“Residents, their families, and team members have all been enjoying learning more about Mobberley’s rich history.
"After much consideration and many suggestions, we have chosen Cranford Grange, which was attributed to the Victorian author, Elizabeth Gaskell, who based her novel, Cranford, here in Knutsford.”
