A FALLEN tree has blocked the main road into Holmes Chapel village.
High winds from Storm Franklin are believed to have brought the tree down overnight on Macclesfield Road near to the A54 junction at London Road.
Roland Holloway, from Holmes Chapel, said: "My wife, Shirley, goes to work early at around 6.45am and had to turn back.
"This is a very busy road, especially at rush hour as it takes all the traffic into Holmes Chapel village.
"It can be blocked up for half a mile in the morning with all the traffic from Congleton heading onto the motorway and the new areas just outside Holmes Chapel village."
