SIX firefighters battled a blaze at a bungalow in Wilmslow in the early hours of this morning, Sunday.
Several fire engines were called to the semi-detached single-storey house, based in Clifford Road, around 4.30am.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reel jets and a covering jet to extinguish a fire in the back room of the property.
They carried out a thorough search and occupiers and residents of the neighbouring bungalow were all accounted for.
The fire had broken into the loft space but it had not spread further into next door's attic.
An investigation at the scene found the fire was caused by a faulty freezer.
