CELEBRITY chef Gino D'Acampo has opened a new restaurant in Alderley Edge.

The TV star has taken over Piccolino on London Road, protecting existing posts and creating 15 new jobs.

The chefs says he is 'super excited' to bring 'upmarket Italian dining' to the village.

Luciano, named after his first born child, will be officially launched at an exclusive event, hosted by Gino, on Monday, January 24.

Speaking about the new venture, Gino said: "I have many friends in Alderley Edge and the surrounding areas.

"It's an amazing place and one in which I'm super excited to open.

"The location on London Road couldn't be any better, it's a fantastic property.

"I'm looking forward to spending time here with my amazing team and incredible, loyal guests."

The first Luciano opened at a five star hotel in the West End of London in July last year.

Gino has three children with wife Jessica, Luciano, 19, Rocco, 15 and daughter Mia, eight.

The Naples born chef currently has 11 restaurants across the UK and recently became the presenter of the hit TV show Family Fortunes.

Gino has written 17 cook books and appears regularly on TV road trips with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sireix and is the resident chef on This Morning.
