A CHRISTMAS lunch with a difference is being served beneath the wings of Concorde.
Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport is serving up a festive treat for guests, with turkey and all the trimmings served up under the wings of Concorde Alpha Charlie.
Diners will be given the chance to tour the iconic aircraft and witness its famous nose droop as a finishing flourish to the occasion.
The nose was tilted on landing to reduce drag and achieve the best aerodynamic efficiency
Guests will receive a complimentary welcome drink of prosecco, beer or soft drink when they arrive at 12 noon on Sunday, December 5.
A festive lunch will be served beneath the wings of this majestic supersonic plane.
Dinner will be served buffet-style, with vegan options and there will be a bar available to buy drinks.
During the afternoon guests will have the chance to board Concorde and sit in one of her famous luxury leather seats.
Live entertainment will include solos from soprano Gemma Ashley and festive songs performed by Voices from Wilmslow High School and carols played by Sale Salvation Army.
Robert Hassard, manager of Runway Visitor Park, said: “After a difficult couple of years for the airport and our neighbouring communities, we are delighted to be able to bring people together once more to celebrate the festive season.
“This will be a truly memorable occasion for diners, with fantastic performances and a unique setting to get them well and truly into the festive spirit.
“We expect this event to prove incredibly popular, so we encourage anyone who is interested to book now to avoid disappointment.”
The festive lunch costs £50 per person of £85 for two.
