FLOODLIGHT failure brought an early end to an exciting Thursday night fixture at Knutsford Rugby Club.
Their clash with Altrincham Kersal's seconds was stopped during the second half as the pitch was plunged into darkness, with Knutsford leading the game 29-19.
Having lost their previous two games, Knutsford fell behind early but quickly regrouped as Alex Davies crossed after darting down the right flank.
The winger then produced another scintillating run down the wing for his second score and followed it up with a conversion and a penalty before Altrincham managed to cross again.
As the second half began, Knutsford soaked up some intense Altrincham pressure but were able to hit them on the counter-attack, with James Doherty cutting loose to break away for two tries while Davies added conversions for both before the lights went out.
Their next fixture sees them travel to Eccles' seconds on November 27.
