The hotel had to cancel bookings immediately and informed guests about the situation as soon as possible.
In a letter to a guest, a hotel spokesman said: “I am really sorry to make you aware that unfortunately we have had to out book you to another hotel from tomorrow (October 14).
“The reason we have had to out book you is because the Home Office has given us 24 hours notification that they would like to take the hotel in its entirety to support with the ongoing requirements of accommodation.
“I am pleased to inform you that we can accommodate you at another hotel, a 40-minute drive away.
“I appreciate that this is far from ideal and if you wish to not take up the offer of the alternative hotel, we can offer you a refund for the night stay.
“I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
