A SCHOOLBOY whose life was transformed by open heart surgery has inspired his mum to help save lives.
Luca Eastwood, 10, from Knutsford, made a full recovery and is now thriving.
Mum-of-two Nina said: "He was born with a heart condition and had open heart surgery when he was five months old. He is fine now and thriving at school."
Nina is organising a garage trail sale and has teamed up with neighbours on the Ways estate to support the British Heart Foundation, which funds lifesaving research.

Residents living near Bexton Lane and Beggarmans Lane will be selling all sorts of items from toys, clothes and games to bric-a-brac, cakes and books.
The sale is on Sunday, October 17 from 1pm to 3pm.
"We organise quite a few things on the estate to bring people together," said Nina, who works for a charity as a membership and events officer.
"It is a nice little thing to do and the kids love it. Some pitch up on other people's driveways so we're all on four central roads that form a loop.
"Everyone gives a donation of their profit. Anyone who wants to take part can join in."
Nina, who also has a 12-year-old son called Jacob, raised more than £2,000 by organising a charity luxury calendar raffle last year.
Residents dressed up in costume to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day and organised a Christmas lights switch on.
