A MUM has vowed to ensure children are kept warm this winter.
Gemma Jackson launched Wrap Up Knutsford, a community coat scheme last year, and was inundated with donations.
The Knutsford mum-of-three is keen to help families again this year.
"The thought of a child going cold or parents being worried about how they are going to dress their children for winter upsets me," said Gemma.
"I came up with the idea because families were really struggling with Covid, furlough and people losing their jobs.
"I was overwhelmed by the response. The people of Knutsford were really amazing, they want to help. It's nice to give something back.
"I gave out more than 250 coats and had lots left over which I passed on to a charity for Afghanistan children so nothing went to waste."

This year, instead of setting up places to collect coats, parents are invited to pledge donations on the scheme's social media forum.
"I can build up a data base and get back to people once I receive requests and match them up," said Gemma. "All we ask is that the coats are suitable for the winter and in a condition you'd be happy for your own child to receive.
"Social workers and health visitors are already in contact with me. Schools and families are welcome to get in touch."
Gemma helped to set up a foodbank in Rochdale and has volunteered at The Welcome in Longridge.
"Knutsford is often perceived as being a really affluent town but there are people that struggle," she said. "There is no shame asking for help.
"Children outgrow their clothes so fast. We want to help families as much as we can to relieve a little of the stress they may be under.
"Some families will be experiencing hardship through no fault of their own. We all need help from time to time."
Anyone wishing to donate a coat can join Wrap Up Knutsford community coat scheme on Facebook or email wrapupknutsford@gmail.com.
Parents are asked to indicate whether the coat is suitable for a boy or girl and the age.
