AN AUDI driver and their passengers fled the scene of a car crash in Holmes Chapel which left a woman with ‘potentially life-changing’ injuries.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Holmes Chapel Road at around 5am Tuesday following the collision between a silver Audi A3 and a red Peugeot 108.
The woman, aged 62, remains in hospital while a 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
He has since been released under investigation.
Officers are now urging any witnesses or anyone with information that could help with their investigation to come forward.
Sergeant Jonathan Marsden said: “This was a serious collision which has left the victim with potentially life-changing injuries.
“We have been completing a number of enquiries and know that the Audi was travelling from Holmes Chapel towards Congleton at the time of the collision.
“As part of our ongoing enquiries, we would like to hear from anyone who may know the identity of the occupants in the Audi.
“The same goes for anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the Audi prior to the collision as we believe this may be able to assist us with our investigation.”
