A PLEA for more drivers is being made as a much appreciated community service gets back on the road.
Knutsford and District Good Neighbours Scheme provides unpaid volunteers to take elderly or inform residents to medical appointments.
The serviced has resumed after not being able to operate for 18 months due to the pandemic.
To begin with, a telephone service will be available from Monday to Thursday each week between operating times of 11am to 3pm.
Older residents who have difficulty getting to hospital, clinic and GP appointments can call to book a journey.

The project started in 1999 and was awarded the Queens golden Jubilee Award for Voluntary Service in 2003.
More volunteer drivers and co-ordinators are now required to meet the growing requests for help.
Douglas Baker, chairman of Knutsford Good Neighbours Scheme, said: "We are always looking for volunteer drivers and coordinators.
"Drivers use their own cars for taking people to appointments and we would be glad to hear from anyone who would like to help. Expenses are paid."
