KNUTSFORD'S only Grade I building will be a prominent part of celebrations for national heritage week on Sunday September 12 and 19.
"We want people in our town to experience a relaxing and highly entertaining few hours in our hidden garden right here in the centre of Knutsford," said Maurice Pitcher, event organiser at Brook Street Chapel, opposite Knutsford station.
"We are providing lots of entertainment for the children including hand puppet decoration which can be used for our pop up puppet theatre."
There will be a hog roast and ploughman’s on alternate days with refreshments including wine and beer
Delicious homemade cakes will be available with a cup of tea or coffee.
An up-and-coming singer from the Halle group accompanied by an organist will perform in a short service prior to the afternoon.
Mini organ recitals continue in the afternoons and a 20-piece brass band also play on the second afternoon together with Morris dancers and an owl display.
The Mayor, Cllr Stewart Gardiner, will attend the opening.
Guided tours will be provided for those interested in the history of the chapel.
You can see a tree from Shakespeare’s garden and Elizabeth Gaskell, the famous author, is buried in the grounds.
Meal tickets can be purchased from Knutsford Art Shop and Stationary House, 36 Princess Street, WA16 6BN.
The event will take place between 12pm and 4pm on both days.
