SOME of Knutsford's finest photographer's have been showing off their talents at a monthly competition.

The Knutsford Photographic Society (KPS) holds the contest every month, with January's taking place remotely due to the current lockdown restrictions.

Member John Cridland said the virtual nature of evening proved a blessing in disguise.

"On a blistering cold and frosty evening last week, members of KPS were reaping the benefits of a virtual zoom meeting.

"Unlikely to venture out (even if they were allowed!) on such a terrible night 23 competitors were treated to a feast of photographic brilliance.

"Being the first PDI competition of what looks to be a very challenging and interesting season, members were keen to get points on the board."

The judge for the evening was Peter Wells, a member of the Wakefield Camera Club.

John added: "He found it tough to choose a shortlist with such an array of high-quality photography on display.

"Overall, Peter was looking for exceptional technique and creativity in the competition images."

First place went to local photographer Bill McGaig, with a stunning close up floral composition - Orchid, with the other placings as follows:

Knutsford Guardian: Bill McCaig also came in fourt place with Mist on the Menai.

Knutsford Guardian: Fifth place went to Joe Morris for his image called Time Warp.
