A CHESHIRE charity has praised its dedicated team of volunteers and staff for continuing to care for local families during the coronavirus pandemic.
Home Start Cheshire, like many services, has had to re-think how it can continue its vital work during the lockdown, which prevents the usual face-to-face support that it offers.
But with the aid of modern technology, families have received nearly 300 phone calls, texts, emails and video chats in the last three weeks alone.
And the charity, which is based in Winsford but operates across the county, says it will never stop being there for the families who need them.
“We are so proud of our team, who are working tirelessly to ensure families of young children do not feel alone during the pandemic,” said CEO Sarah Jones.
“We will continue to support our families as best we can and look for new ways to reach out and support them.”
Families have also been singing the charity’s praises, as one mum said: “Thank you for being amazing and being there one way or another no matter what. It means the world.”
Another parent said: “Thank you for ringing me. I've felt trapped in the house, but you've made my day.”
Home-Start offers support to families experiencing difficulties, helping to prevent family crises and breakdowns through regular weekly visits by trained family mentor volunteers.
