DOGS were the surprise guests of honour when the Tea Room in Knutsford launched its new menu.
Four-legged visitors were welcomed with ‘puppucinos’ and samples from the new dog menu at the Cotton Shop Yard eatery.
It has been created by the Tea Room’s manager, Harriet Henry, to include a range of healthy dishes that promote dogs’ wellbeing and more than 25 pooches came to sample the treats including a pug, a poodle, a French Bulldog, labradors, miniature dachshunds, shih tzus and cockapoos.
She said: “As a dog-owner myself, I know how much people love their dogs and how important it is to have somewhere you can go where you are made to feel welcome with them.
“So, this is why we decided to create a menu especially for dogs.
"We’ve got a classic sausage on there but also a nice mix of nutritionally balanced meals like salmon fishcakes and turkey with rice and vegetables.
"I have been refining the dishes with my four-legged taste tasters, George and Mabel, our miniature dachshunds.
“There was a happy atmosphere and seeing all the dogs and their owners having such a good time has been one of my biggest highlights here.
"Our customers are so lovely and based on the feedback, we’ll definitely think about having more dog parties.”
