NORTHWICH mum and dog groomer Sarah Marigliano has been announced as the Brexit Party's parliamentary candidate for Tatton.
The 48-year-old – who has a background in management consultancy, training and coaching – will be contesting the seat against Conservative minister and fellow Brexiteer Esther McVey.
“The democratic vote in 2016 by 17.4 million people in the UK to leave the European Union has been betrayed and I wish to defend it in Westminster with the Brexit Party," said Sarah, who was born in Italy but moved to the UK at two years old.
“I want to help save the UK £39 billion of taxpayers' money by leaving the EU on World Trade Organisation terms and expand international trade after Brexit. I also wish to promote small business opportunities by introducing zero business rates on the high street for retailers, offset by small internet sales tax.
“I believe the two-party system is broken and I want to reform it.
“For 25 years I have managed hundreds of multi-million pound global projects and programmes for pharama, finance, government, NHS and digital arenas. More recently, I have re-trained to become a dog groomer as I wanted a work-life balance with my family and grew tired of the corporate lifestyle."
Her selection was welcomed by Henrik Overgaard-Nielsen, Brexit Party MEP for the north west.

He said: “Sarah is like many of our supporters angered by the betrayal of the Westminster elite that they feel compelled to take action.
“She understands business and the way the real world operates and would be able to use that experience and determination to help ensure real Brexit is delivered.”
