LABOUR Party members say it’s time now, more than ever, to bring people together to build a better future for everyone.
The call comes from Tatton Labour Party, which has expressed its ‘disappointment’ over the resignation of Labour MPs from their Party.
The new Independent Group was set up by seven defecting Labour MPs, who have been joined by a further Labour MP and three Conservative MPs, who have also resigned from their Party.
Tatton Constituency Labour Party met on Monday evening to discuss the resignations of the Labour MPs from the Party.
“Tatton Constituency Labour Party notes the resignations of Labour MPs, and in response wishes to support the statement made by Jeremy Corbyn calling for unity amongst the vast majority of those who continue to fight for a Labour government,” said Mike Prendiville, campaign co-ordinator on behalf of Tatton CLP.
“It is disappointing that a small group of MPs have felt unable to continue work together for Labour policies that inspired millions at the last General Election, and saw us increase our vote by the largest share since 1945.
“Tatton Labour Party believes that now more than ever, when millions are facing the misery of Universal Credit, rising crime, homelessness and poverty, it is a time to bring people together to build a better future for us all.”
