AVID reader Ruby Moorhouse has received a special treat to thank her for raising almost £800 for The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
Trust fundraiser Helen Crowther said: “Ruby raised funds for CAFT by taking part in her very own Read-a-thon over the first weekend in February.
“She has now raised a phenomenal £790 for our charity and we were so pleased to be able to thank her in person when she visited the Adventure Farm with her mum, Michelle.
“It was our pleasure to meet a wonderful young girl today who is an inspiration to us all.
“Earlier this year, Ruby, aged 10, decided she would like to help the children visiting CAFT by doing what she's good at – reading.
“Over the weekend of February 1 to 3 Ruby read an impressive five books and raised an amazing amount for our charity.
“We invited her to visit us to say thank you and to show her why her hard work is so important.
“Ruby was excited to see the Adventure Farm, and loved meeting our animals.
“She even got to walk a sheep! She was delighted to see why her fundraising is so important, and it was wonderful to spend time with both her and Michelle.
“As an extra thank you, our great friend and author Curtis Jobling personally signed two books for Ruby, which she proudly posed with on our Storytelling Chair overlooking the sensory garden and pond.
“There's still time to support Ruby's Read-a-thon, you'll find her Just Giving page at justgiving.com/fundraising/ruby-moorhouse
“Ruby has shown there are so many ways to raise funds for CAFT, everyone has their own talents which can be put to excellent use in supporting children who need a helping hand. Thank you Ruby, you really are a superstar fundraiser.”
