MUSICIAN Simon Slater is looking to drum up support for the launch party of his band’s latest album.
Simon, from Wilmslow, is the drummer with alternative rock band Rogue Frequency, which has produced Ray’s Unearthly Hour, its most ambitious album to date.
The band will be launching the concept album at The Spinning Top in Stockport on Saturday, performing the 10-track album in its entirety before playing a second set of older fan favourites from the group’s previous three albums.
Doors open at 7pm, admission is free, and the band will be performing from 9pm.
Rogue Frequency have been together for 14 years, and their latest album has been three years in the making.
“Our latest album represents the soundtrack to a lost film, and is our most ambitious to date,” said Simon.
“The recording, mix and CD artwork is of a higher standard than most current signed bands of any genre.
“We are inviting everyone to come along to the Spinning Top on Saturday to support the band, experience a really great live act and buy your copy of our new album.”
Signed copies of the album will be available, and music fans will be able to meet the band and talk about the vision behind the album's creation.
Simon is joined by lead singer Chris Smith from Handforth, who founded the band, guitarist Mark Muskett from Sale and violinist Rob Wakefield from Stockport.
Their first album, Spat Out My Machines, was released in 2007, followed by Foetal Upon The Tiles Parts 1 and 2.
Simon added: “If you are interested in the launch but cannot attend, we would still love to hear from you.”
The Spinning Top is in Wellington Road South, Stockport, and to contact the band visit their Facebook page
