HOLMES Chapel Comprehensive School is in discussions with Cheshire East Council about the potential need to increase places at the school.
Headteacher Denis Oliver said in the school’s newsletter: “Demand for places at our school and sixth form has started to build steadily over the past year.
“It seems obvious with the number of new homes being built in the area, the demand will continue to rise at an accelerated pace.
“We have always guaranteed a place at this school, for any child who wishes to come here, from one of our designated feeder primary schools, and we will continue to do this.
“With this in mind, we are in discussions with our colleagues at Cheshire East about the potential need to expand the number of places available across all year groups over the next five years and beyond.
“When we have completed this work between us we will be in a position to develop firm plans and to publish any resulting proposals.
“The overall delivery of high-quality teaching and learning is our priority, and at all stages of development we will not compromise on providing the best facilities and staff that are needed to give every student the very best life chances possible.
“In order to offer more places, whilst not compromising the standards we currently set, there will need to be substantial investment in facilities and staffing.
“We look forward to working with our parents and partners as we plan for the continued success of our school and sixth form college.”
