AN 18-year-old man who has been helping police with their investigation into alleged sexual assaults in Knutsford has been released on police bail.
Officers investigating two incidents arrested the local man on suspicion of sexual assault, and he was in police custody helping officers with their inquiries.
The man was arrested on Thursday, and police said today (Sunday) that he had been released on police bail.
The first incident happened on Bexton Road at around 3.45pm on Thursday, October 11, and involved a 38-year-old woman.
The second incident occurred on Blackhill Lane between 6pm and 6.45pm on Friday, November 2, and involved a 42-year-old woman.
A police spokesman said: “Our investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information which they feel may assist us is asked to make contact by calling 101 and quoting IML 230042.”
Following the incidents police stepped up patrols in the area to try and provide reassurance to the community.
