KNUTSFORD’S oldest place of worship has a new but familiar person in charge.
Minister Jean Bradley, the first woman minister in the history of the Grade 1 listed Brook Street Chapel, has retired and her husband Alex has taken her place.
Alex already knows the chapel well as he was first appointed as Minister 20 years ago in 1998.
Jean took his place in 2010 when he took up a college teaching post in Manchester and he has come back to take up the reins again.
They will still be very much acting as a team, with Jean taking services when Alex has church commitments elsewhere.
Alex said: "I see Unitarianism as a way of life in the free spirit, following the teachings of Jesus and trying to live in harmony with nature and God. I am very pleased to be back with old friends and new ones.”
