MIDDLEWICH High School headteacher Keith Simpson has praised the determination and positive attitude of his students in the wake of the GCSE results.
He said: “I am once again delighted with Year 11 and their positive attitude, resilience and determination, which has enabled them to succeed.
“Our school’s fully inclusive ethos of ‘Achievement for All’ is reflected by the progress which our students make in their five years here at Middlewich High School – 33 per cent of students achieved grades 7-9 which is equivalent to the legacy A/A* GCSE.
“Once again students across the board performed exceptionally well. Under the new, more challenging format Grade 9 is the new highest grade, and students achieved this grade across the breadth of the GCSE curriculum in maths, English, art, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, geography, history and sports studies.”
Individual students praised for achieving the highest grades were -
Elliott Chan - 6 x grade 9/A*, Noah Curran - 8 x grade 9/A*, Hannah Eyres - 7 x grade 9/A*, David Harrop - 7 x grade 9/A* and Serena Jerham - 8 x grade 9/A*.
Special recognition also went to Aaron Doyle, Jonty Cottam, Charlotte Hamilton, Charlotte Hext, John Pratt, Cody Burgess, Charlotte Jennings, Keelan Phillips, Niamh Malloy, Peter Huxley and Adam McCollom.
Mr Simpson added: “I would like to congratulate all of the students on their successful transition into their post-16 studies and future careers.
“Thank you to the staff who have worked so professionally to support our students and to our parents and carers for working in partnership with us to achieve these positive results.”
