FOUR residents are looking for your votes as they aim to be elected to Knutsford Town Council next month
The following candidates are standing in Nether Ward in the election that takes place on May 7.
Stewart Gardiner (Conservative)
"I moved to Knutsford because it was a pleasant place to live, joined the town council so I could play my part in the community; giving something back to my adopted hometown and its people.
"As Town Mayor I met lots of wonderful volunteers; seeing first-hand all they do for our community, I want to be re-elected to help them achieve even more for Knutsford.
In the future there will be new housing development; most in Nether Ward.
"I want to work with all stake-holders ensuring it complements our Town’s attractive character, meets local needs and provides the facilities to support it."
Julie Tempest (Independent)
"I'm involved with town activities all year round - not just when it comes to an election!
"The Knutsford Hosts, Knutsford Town Plan, Knutsford Promenades and Promote Knutsford Forum are all amongst the things I do to support the town I've been proud to call home for more than 25 years.
"I don't believe in party politics at town council level - I'm Independent, I'm a doer, I'll represent what the people of Nether Ward want - not what a party decides you want. "Leave your politics to the General Election - vote Julie Tempest for Nether ward!"
Christopher Gray (Conservative)
"In the six months since I was elected to represent Nether Ward I have become to appreciate the time and the commitment councillors put in to making Knutsford a pleasant and cohesive community.
"If re-elected, I will endeavour (through the auspices of the Neighbourhood Plan) to ensure that our busy and unique town meets the needs of an increasing population. As the Link Councillor for the Town Centre Working Group, I warmly welcome you to join me in the preparation of a comprehensive plan for the whole of the town centre."
James Power (Conservative)
"Knutsford has always felt like home to me and one of my earliest childhood memories is of walking through Tatton Park.
"I am standing as a councillor because I want to protect and promote the town’s distinctive character.
"I am an approachable person who works in education at a local college. I feel very fortunate that my family are living in a town with such a strong community spirit. I will ensure that our public finances are well managed and will support the improvement of the local medical services."
