SEATS on three of the four wards on Knutsford Town Council will be contested on Thursday, May 7.
There will be elections for the Nether, Over and Norbury Booths wards, where a total of 16 candidates will battle for 12 seats, and the three candidates will be returned unopposed in the Bexton ward.
There are three seats up for grabs on the Nether ward, and four candidates, Conservative candidates Christopher Gray, Stewart Gardiner and James Power and Independent Julie Tempest.
Three are eight candidates for the six seats on the Over ward, Conservatives Peter Coan, Jonathan Farber, Neil Forbes, Jane Froehlich, Julian Goodrich and Michael Houghton, and Independents Yvonne Bancroft and Andrew Malloy.
There are four candidates for the three seats on the Norbury Booths ward, Conservatives Janet Nicholson, Hayley Wells-Bradshaw and Jon Wells-Bradshaw, and Independent Charlotte Greenstein.
The candidates returned unopposed in Bexton are Conservatives Tony Dean, Christine Gray and Simon Hutchence.
There are 12 vacancies on the Holmes Chapel Parish Council, and as only 11 people put themselves forward for a seat they will automatically be appointed and there will not be an election to the council.
