KNUTSFORDIANS will have a chance to listen to what the election candidates for Tatton have to say in a debate being held at the end of the month.
The Guardian is hosting a debate involving five of the candidates for Tatton, with the town’s voters asking the big questions about matters that mean the most to them in the constituency.
Those in attendance include George Osborne, Labour candidate David Pinto-Duschinsky and the Liberal Democrats’ Gareth Wilson.
Green candidate Tina-Louise Rothery as well as UKIP candidate Stuart Hutton will also be in attendance.
This time the event will be held in the Upper school hall at Knutsford Academy on Friday, April 24, at 6.30pm and will last for two hours.
At the debate, chaired by Guardian editor Carla Flynn, each candidate will be given two minutes to introduce themselves and give a brief biography.
They will then face questions submitted in advance by members of the public and the evening will close with a short speech from each of the candidates about why the people of Knutsford should vote for them.
Guardian editor Carla Flynn said: “It will be a really good opportunity to hear what the candidates have planned for Tatton and Knutsford in particular.”
Chancellor George Osborne has held the seat since 2001.
Anyone who would like to put a question to the candidates should email james.wilson@guardiangrp.co.uk with ‘hustings’ in the subject header or write to Candidates’ Questions, Knutsford Guardian, 5-6 Theatre Court, London Road, Northwich.
Priority will be given to questions specific to Knutsford.
