AN award-winning music composer will give an insight into the secrets behind creating movie scores when he speaks at a Friends of The Blackden Trust meeting.

Richard G. Mitchell, who has worked alongside Anthony Hopkins, Scarlett Johansson and Helen Hunt, will talk about the challenges of composing scores for films, television documentaries and dramas at Knutsford Civic Centre.

Richard has won numerous awards, including the Ivor Novello award for the film Trial by Fire and the Royal Television Society Awards for the BBC period drama The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

The Blackden Trust, which was founded in 2004, is the guardian of the land and the two timber-framed houses where famous author Alan Garner lives near Goostrey. The Trust undertakes research into the history of the area.

Antonella Novarina, one of the organisers, said: “This is a rare opportunity to hear from such a high profile composer and to find out about all the wonderful work that is going on at The Blackden Trust.

“Tickets are limited and so I will sell out very quickly.”

Tickets, for the event which takes place at 3pm on Saturday March 2, cost £6 and are available from Brian Rich on 01538 384713 or brianrich457@btinternet.com
