THREE girls from the Knutsford area have qualified for the next round of a national singing competition.
Knutsford Academy students Laura Downes and Abigail Chetham, both 12, qualified for the regional finals of the Teenstar singing competition at the Palace Theatre in Manchester on Sunday, February 3.
They were joined by Knutsford Royal May Day Queen, Lakeisha Bradbury, 14, who won through to the final in the ‘mid teens’ category. The Holmes Chapel Comprehensive student will be performing again in the north west final in April.
Teenstar is a new national singing competition that searches for the best adolescent singers, songwriters, rappers and vocalists with the national final being held at the O2 in London.
The girls will now all have to perform at the Royal Northern College of Music on April 7 to secure a place in the finals.
Tickets are available by emailing b.chetham@btinternet.com or ester@exclusivefinance.com for the regional final priced at £8 for anyone who is interested in supporting the girls.
