David Robert Bowen

DAVID ROBERT BOWEN It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Robert Bowen. 91 years filled with love and laughter. A true gentleman to the very end. The thing I remember most about David was the way, regardless of how many people were waiting to be served, he would chat away with whomever he was currently serving - swapping anecdotes, dispensing words of wisdom and just being a really nice bloke. He did it with everyone, and depending on your place in the queue, was much respected for it.

I'm so sorry to hear of Davids passing but he is now with his beloved Jess. I worked for the family at weekends in their shop and was always made to feel like part of the family by his mum and dad. Both David and Jess were lovely with my mum who also worked in the shop at weekends. I only found this announcement while looking for another and didn't find out about Jess passing until some time after.

So very sorry to read of David's passing. There is so much good I could say about him that would go on for pages. Suffice to say a rare, true gentleman of humour and knowledge. Rest in peace great man.

So sorry to hear of David's passing, he'll now be with Jesse no doubt continuing his never ending tales of yesteryear. Always pleased to see him when we were next door. RIP David from Sheila, Brian & the robin.
