NETTIE MARGUERITE WINSTANLEY (Nee SHAW) Aged 103. Nettie died very peacefully, under the tender care of staff, at the Westbourne Nursing Home in Holmes Chapel, on Saturday 09 March 2019. Born in 1916 in Wolverhampton, Nettie was the only surviving child of three. She married and was the Mother of four children, her elder son, Ralph, pre-deceasing her. She had ten Grandchildren, eleven Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Grandchild. Funeral service, led by Knutsford Unitarian Minister, Jean Bradley, at Vale Royal Crematorium at 1pm on 03 April 2019. Nettie disliked cut flowers, so the request is that those attending should wear 'something flowery', instead. We celebrate a very long life, of a woman born in one war, starting her family in the next war, in bombed out Birmingham, and 'getting through', no matter what. Nettie had both Glaucoma, causing blindness, and Dementia. Donations to either Glaucoma Research or Dementia Research would be welcomed, at Griffiths & Booth Funeral Directors, Laburnum Cottage, 17 Macclesfield Road, Holmes Chapel, CW4 7NF, 01477 532 427.
